Where And When We Train

We are always happy for people to come and train with us giving you a chance to get a feel for the club and fellow paddlers as well as dragon boating. If you would like to join us for any training us please text your name and date that you want to come at least 24 hours before the session in order that we can reserve a space on the boat for you. Please text 0407 909517

When do you train?

Saturday morning:

Warm up at 7:15am, on the water at 7:30am, and off the water by 9:30am. After training we usually head to breakfast and or coffee at the local café.

Wednesday evenings – and some Mondays:

Warm up at 6:15pm, on the water at 6.30pm and off the water by 8:00pm. After training, home, or for some, pizza and pub.

Where do I go to train?

Underneath the eastern end of the Anzac Bridge on Bank Street. Follow the signs for the Fish Markets, drive along Bank Street with the fish market on your left , straight on for around 200 meters until you are under the bridge, there is a gate of your left with parking or parking on the street at the parking meters.

What shall I wear?

You will get wet. A short sleeved T-shirt or rash vest and board shorts or lycra sports shorts are good. A light pair of track suit pants is fine. If it’s cold, an old fleece, preferably with short sleeves. Surf shoes or an old pair of sneakers, both fine for the feet. It can get slippery on the boat ramp so best to avoid thongs. A cap will protect you from the sun, together with an old pair of sun glasses.

What else do I need to bring?

A water bottle, you’ll need that to keep you hydrated along the way. We have an indeminity form you’ll need to complete before you start paddling, you can download this here and bring it with you or we’ll provide you with one on the day.
